On the inerrancy of the Scriptures

                          Picture
I think it's pretty sad that Cultural Christianity even debates this issue. What if Tae Kwon Do practitioners questioned the authority or validity of Jhoon Rhee's critical text on that martial art? What if Muslims took to debating whether or not the Qu'ran was applicable today? We would say the former are no longer Tae Kwon Do practitioners and the latter are not long going to be Muslim. To debate whether or not the Scriptures are inerrant is to move away from Christianity to...something else. The following links lead to documents that, while not exhaustively treating the issue, should at least help point the questioner in the right direction.

                          Caveat
Let's make sure that we know what our doctrine is on the inerrancy of the Scriptures. We believe that the autographa, the original texts, were inerrant and infallible. We do NOT believe that every edition ever since was equally inspired and protected; even (ahem) the KJV. So, we are not debating the NIV or the NLT or the HCSB here. We're talking about the original documents the prophets and apostles wrote. OK?
